iCamp - Integration Camp
This was an interesting session presented by Trish Panknin from Tuloso-Midway ISD. In this district teacher compentency testing is done. Teachers can choose between online testing or 4 technology days of training to fullill the competency requirements. Those that do not meet the requirements are not renewed. Trish has developed an integration camp. Basically throughout the year, the participants meet 10 different times for 3 hours. This is done after school. Presenters have focused lessons on technology integration. Teachers apply for this camp because at completion, teachers are given $2000 to spend in their own classrooms on whatever type of technology they want. They must submit the technology selections and how they will incorporate them into their curriculum and with their students to the technology committee. Their model may not work for us, but maybe we can build off their ideas on our own scale.

I attended one of his paid workshops - Cool Web 2 Tools: Integrating Math-Science-Language Arts- Social Studies (Just a little side note - He presented six or seven workshops @ $95 a head - .... $10,000+ for TCEA 2011) A great result was that he gave us all his materials for each workshop.
